Seven day half-life, blossoms and other drugs

For fifty weeks a year the brown trees branches in Buldang bear little life. Here and there an evergreen and the occasional green leafed tree. Along the river and concrete to boxes, a line of cherry trees comes to life each spring.

The six o’clock sun stretched today’s shadows over the construction sites, inching each minute closer to my toes. The weekend workday over, opened book on bench. Moon hung inches over the apartment buildings, white on pale blue and ready for the night.
