All of Busan is a market and each thing is on sale. It’s been that way since the 1500s when Korea made the city a Japanese trading port. Since then the boats have come and gone from the harbour with goods bought and sold over the ever pushing current.
We found all we wanted hanging from set-up walls and laid out on the streets. Walked past the unending fruit and fish, the chopped off chicken legs, and kindle fire wood a plenty.
Bought a baseball cap by the local team, the Lotte Giants. Found the face of a famous supermodel on a black t-shirt in one of the mens’ shops and a cozy cotton cape. But the best find of the trip we didn’t buy, a gold plate on a tacky purse with the etched letters of our home province: Manitoba.
