No Exit

Along the walkway outside the Busan Museum of Art, Sunyoung Kim’s cast of characters. Some lost children dripped into aviator hats, aircraft stranded halfway between Seoul and Brooklyn.

All baseball caps and trendish varsity jackets, striped shirts and square glasses. Big faces and the trappings of quarter-life crashers. Six-year-old slumped shoulders and backpacks. Stuck in class and going nowhere.

Traffic signs on all the merchandise. In English, they read: No Exit.
